Retired District Court Judge Linda Davis testifies in support of Lucido’s opioid education bill

LANSING, Mich. — State Sen. Peter J. Lucido on Thursday welcomed recently retired 41B District Court Judge Linda Davis to the Senate Health Policy and Human Services Committee.

Judge Davis spoke in favor of Lucido’s Senate Bill 307, which would provide for youth athletes to receive information on the dangers of opioids, which they might be prescribed following an injury sustained through involvement in their sport or athletic activity.

Davis, who retired from the bench last March, serves as the executive director of Families Against Narcotics, a nonprofit, antidrug organization she co-founded.
